>[!error|noicon] About
>Meldrick was a former apprentice of Langhorne, working under his wing for a few years before a disagreement had caused the two to split, leading Meldrick to leave for a few years on his own adventure before returning with his tail between his legs.
>
>Meldrick was well known to be _charming, charismatic, and able to make you feel like the most important person in the world._ He was a romantic at heart, and had an air of fairy-tale heroism that did well to hide his background of piracy.
>
>Langhorne had sent for him, and when he returned, Langhorne had given him the opportunity to become the first mate of The Night’s Folley. No one really knows what had happened during his time gone, and the story seems to change for everyone that asks. All Silver knows is that something terrible had happened that had caused him to lose a lot, forcing him to crawl back to Langhorne.
>
>In his years of pirate infancy, Meldrick was _very vocal about his desire for power_, always believing he was intended for so much more. This notion was persuaded in others through beguiling speeches, feats of great risk and heroics, and an ambitious desire he made clear in every tavern outing where he always managed to find himself the centre of attention. _He truly seemed to believe that perhaps, he was unable to die._
>
>Meldrick, underneath his shining persona and captivating words, was deeply insecure with tendencies that made him a deeply selfish and unempathetic person, something that was so well hidden it became _nearly completely impossible to figure out something was wrong until it was too late._

>>[!error|noicon] Trivia
>> - He exaggerates and fabricates parts of his personality and self in order _to become what others want to see_, and what he wants others to see.
>> - Typical ‘dreamy’ bard stereotype; _the romantic who woos women_ with love poems and personal songs he slaves weeks to months over.
>> - Meldrick skillfully uses flattery as a tool to manipulate Silver, leveraging her hopeless romantic tendencies to forge a connection with her. He knows that Silver yearns for affection and validation, _often weaving sweet words and compliments into their conversations._ By praising her beauty, intelligence, and strength, he builds her up in a way that makes her feel special.
>> - Meldrick _cares purely for his reputation_; he craves to be admired, seen as 'the hero'; often aligns himself with a group or cause not because he cares about said group/cause, but it serves as a source of attention and/or a foundation to elevate his status
>> - He can read and write, and does it fairly well. Silver, when she became closer, started _asking him more frequently to pen her letters and notes_, instead of Presna.
