>General tip/rule of thumb when drawing hair. This should work with most hair types, from straight, to wavy, to curly and to coily. It works better for longer hair, however it will still work for shorter hairstyles.
>
>The example images shown for the tutorial is of more wavy hair.
>
> >[!cite]+ 1. Go Bald
> >Draw the _entire shape of the character's head_. This step is integral to help avoid 'flat' hair that looks like your character only has a large dent in their skull.
> >
> >When drawing the hair over this, make sure to leave some space between the skull and the outline of the hair, as _hair grows up and out_, and away from the skull. Drawing too closely to the head will make it look a bit odd.
> >
> >Next, as shown in the images below, section the skull out, creating square shapes that follow the curve of the head. I tend to start with a 'center' line the follows the middle top of the skull and aligns with the nose, before dividing the spaces on either side of this line in half, and sometimes in half again. I follow a similar process with the lines that cross over.

> >These don't have to be perfect, but make sure the squares are not too big or too small. These squares represent 'sections' or 'chunks' of hair.

> >[!cite]+ 2. Start Drawing The Hair
> >
> >Using the squares we made in the previous step, start drawing the hair in sections, making them roughly the size of the sections.
> >
> >If you are drawing particularly voluminous hair, it is a good idea to very quickly and roughly map out the overall, general shape of the hair.
> >
> >As you go, keep the sections/chunks of hair simplistic, layering them over each other as you slowly build up the overall hair.

>>[!cite]+ 3. Add Detail
>>Once all the sections are done, add more detail to the hair in the form of loose strands, much smaller chunks, and more complex shapes and forms.
>>
>>The messier the hair, the more detail/strands that tend to come off the hair.
>>
>>Keep adding until you are happy with the outcome, and **Done!**
