>My own Pinterest board which I use to collect and save my own references. Been a Pinterest user from before the AI slop take over so I've been hoarding my good references like a doomsday prepper does with canned corn.
>
>|**Pros**|**Cons**|
>|-|-|
>|✦ Organised into sections|✦ I tend to slack on organising my pins|
>|✦ Updated frequently|✦ Very centred on my own personal tastes|
>|✦ No AI art||

>###
[Reference Angle](http://referenceangle.com/)

>Helps get good photo references for different angles of the head. You use a 3D model which you rotate to the angle you want, and then you hit 'search' and it pulls up real photos of people that have the same head angle. Good to use if you're sick of typical 3D models not accounting for different face/nose/eye shapes etc.
>
>|**Pros**|**Cons**|
>|-|-|
>|✦ Get real photo references for pretty much any head angle with any emotion|✦ Found some specific angles were really tricky to find/didn't exist|
>|✦ Includes options for facial hair, glasses, open mouths, etc||

>###
[Keinan Lafferty](https://www.youtube.com/@KienanLafferty/featured)

>- *Good for improvng Colours, Posing, and Rendering*
>- *Focuses on Digital Concept Art, and has a more anime-esc 'Splash Art' stylisation*
>
>An artist who posts videos on his digital art. He stopped posting at some point for about 5 years, but has started posting again weekly since March 2025. He has a huge focus on digital art, and has a much more stylised, 'anime-esc' painterly style.
>
>Personally I haven't watched his more recent ones, but I was a huge fan of the older ones when he was more regular a few years back. His videos were more targeted towards intermediate artists as opposed to beginners, teaching skills to get you from intermediate to advanced, which I really appreciated since there's very little for that.
>
>He has long videos (ranging from 30min to over an hour), which makes sense considering these are meant to be more indepth tutorials. I enjoyed his videos the most with one of his videos playing on a separate monitor/my phone, while I was chipping away at a painting on my tablet. The tutorials don't really offer specialised advice on specific artistic instances, but rather broader knowledge on diverse subjects that I found improved by art as I was drawing my own thing on the side. Feels more like 'gaining XP' as opposed to 'Levelling Up' if that makes sense.
>
>|**Pros**|**Cons**|
>|-|-|
>|✦ Weekly videos|✦ Tutorials are more Photoshop centered|
>|✦ HUGE youtube library|✦ I don't know the quality of his newer videos, but I do recommend the ones from 2020 and prior|
>|✦ Good for intermediate/advanced artists|✦ The characters he uses as examples are all/mostly very feminine in shape, so not a fantastic anatomical reference if you're looking for variation but he is excellent with colours|
>|✦ Good for concept artists/wannabe concept artists||
>|✦ Good voice to listen to; gives off 'lecturer in art school who is just happy to be here teaching art'||

>###
[Sinix Design](https://www.youtube.com/@sinixdesign)

>- *Good for improving anatomy*
>- *Focuses on Digital Rendering and has a more stylised-realism painterly style*
>
>Sinix has a particular artstyle I admire that I can only really describe as a smoother version of the [Dishonored Artstyle](https://www.artstation.com/cedricpeyravernay) in the sense it has those clearer, more defined sections of the face with that painterly edge, but it's no where near as detailed and 'grungy'.
>
>His videos I stopped watching about 3 or 4 years ago; I stuck around for the 'Anatomy Quick Tips' videos, and when I watched all of them it was around the time he stopped really posting them (last one was 2 years ago I think?).
>
>He definitely has more of a focus on people/skin, and so you if you wanna focus on how to render those *really* well, then Sinix is good for that.
>
>His videos are more on the shorter side, the Anatomy Quick Tips being about 20min long. This means they don't go suuuper indepth, but are good if you need refreshers/want to improve what you got and go from intermediate to advanced.
>
>|**Pros**|**Cons**|
>|-|-|
>|✦ Videos are short and easily digestable on a morning commute |✦ Not super beginner friendly|
>|✦ Paintover Pals offers great insight|✦ VERY specialised; Tutorials focus mainly on rendering anatomy|
>|✦ More unconventional designs, exploring different variations and doesn't stick to just conventionally pretty/thin/young feminine characters|✦ Not a HUGE library of resources, and he isn't as active anymore|
>|✦ Good listening voice. It's very calm, not too loud or too 'YouTuber' if that makes sense. Gives 'chill lecturer in your art course' vibe in his tone.|✦ Not super beginner friendly|
